'The Ramp' at St Peters is the shabbiest hospital building I've visited although the departmental area was nice enough. As with most hospitals parking is a nightmare. Is there any way to offer Park & Ride (or did I miss it)?

Thank you so much for the 5* rating despite the other difficulties and for taking the time to describe them. Parking is a nightmare for patients and staff at all the local hospitals - St Peter's has had parking spaces withdrawn by the local council at the same time as they are trying to cut bus services, despite valiant efforts by our chief exec and petitions from all sorts of people. It is useful to have such frank views on the building's exterior. I am proud to work at St Peter's which is generally a caring hospital, but some faults seem to get overlooked and your comments will help me fight that. I am torn between despair at the state of the building and pride that a WW2 Nissen Hut built in difficult circumstances is still standing. It is clearly not really suitable for what we do and there are plans to rehouse us. The hospital usually offers people who make comments such as yours "You can also contact our Patient Experience Team on 01932 723553 or email pals@asph.nhs.uk" and they are genuinely interested in patients' views.

Dr Fowle was friendly and quickly put me at my ease. He explained the procedure and what it could and couldn't do. His bedside manner was great and took my mind off the occasionally painful bits of the test. I'd be happy to recommend him.

I saw this consultant today who was very patient and explained things in way that made me more relaxed and calm. He listened to me and this made a huge difference to me. I thought the receptionist and Dr Fowle's assistant were so very kind and considerate of my needs as I was arriving in a wheelchair. I felt at ease as soon as I got into reception, and was able to relax before the tests thus making them easier to deal with and thus I felt giving a better outcome for patient and staff. Facilities all spotless and clean and ready for use. The appointment reception was caring and efficient. Thank you all for your kindness and care today.

Profile

I see patients in several NHS and private hospitals.

I enjoy teaching, with patients or in tutorials. I am quite active in my specialty and I was President of the British Society for Clinical Neurophysiology for 3 years from 2017- but seeing patients remains the best part of the job.

From 2002 - 2018 I led West Surrey Clinical Neurophysiology at St Peter's Hospital, part of ASPH NHS Foundation Trust. I am proud of the team in neurophysiology that I left behind me. My NHS base is now at The Whittington Hospital in North London. I am Medical Director of Mediservices Healthcare, although I rarely see patients face to face in that capacity.

I trained as an undergraduate at St Thomas's Hospital Medical School and trained in clinical neurophysiology at Kings College Hospital, in one of the largest departments in the country.
